Chinn Park Children's Garden

The Garden Club of Lake Ridge designed and constructed the Chinn Park Children's Garden located at 13025 Chinn Park Drive, Woodbridge, Virginia, 22192. The location of the garden is between the Chinn Park Aquatics & Fitness Center and the Chinn Park Library.

The project's purpose is to cultivate an appreciation for gardening, nature, environmental stewardship and sustainability in children and their families. The creation of the Chinn Park Children's Garden was driven by the Garden Club of Lake Ridge's commitment to civic and environmental responsibility in alignment with the mission for the National Garden Clubs. The garden provides an interactive and sensory experience that inspires children to explore nature throughout the changing seasons. The garden is a four season and five senses garden that consists of over 150 native plants. By incorporating native plants, the garden showcases their benefits in supporting local wildlife and creating a healthier ecosystem. The garden will be the focal point for education and will inspire children to develop a lifelong reverence for nature.

South Run Collaboration

The South Run Landscape volunteers visited the Chinn Park Children's Garden. It was nice to share information on both of our children's gardens about the plants, hardscape, signs and to provide information for another children's garden that one of the volunteers is seeking to build at her church.
